Many hands make light work...
Everything that happens at Port Sorell SLSC is possible because somebody volunteered to do it. Without our dedicated volunteers the club would cease to function.
Our Nipper Training sessions are conducted by volunteer parents and members.
There are many opportunities where you can lend a helping hand, either for a couple of hours, or a whole season:
- Support our volunteers by expecting good behaviour from your child
- Help prepare food for the BBQ
- Help pack equipment away after training
- Help with a beach activity or assist with water safety
- Gain you Bronze Medallion, Surf Rescue Certificate or First Aid to join a patrol
- Become an Age Manager, Coach or Official at Carnivals
- Offer to write an article for the newsletter
- Offer to be on the bar roster at club functions
- Offer to clean the change rooms or function area
- Attend committee meetings and have a voice
- Join a working bee at the clubhouse when required
Member Protection
Member safety is our number one priority for the club, and we have strict Member Protection Policies in place.
Any position which has more than incidental contact with children and young people requires the volunteer to have a current Working With Vulnerable People registration.
Certain positions require the volunteer to be a full member of the club in order to be covered by Surf Life Saving Tasmania insurance policies.
For assistance with WWVP registration issues, please contact our Member Protection Information Officer (details on the Committee page).
