Swimming Proficiency

It is a requirement of Surf Life Saving Australia that in order for Flippers & Nippers to participate in water-based activities at training, they must be capable of swimming a set distance as stated below.

In order to participate in Carnivals, additional swimming proficiency must be demonstrated in open water.

Swimming Proficiency Swim sessions are held annually in between the Club Registration Day (late October) and the first Nipper training session (early November) each year.  Open water proficiency swims for Carnivals are completed once the Nipper season commences and prior to the first carnival.  Dates are available on the Nipper Calendar and are advertised on the club’s Facebook page.
