The 2021 Penguin Island Swim has been rescheduled for 21st February 2021, with the first race commencing at 10am.

Race Day Details

8:30am – 9:15am: Check in.
9:45am: 500m race briefing.
10:00am: 500m race start.
10.15am: 2km race briefing.
10.30am: 2km race starts in waves.

The Penguin Island Swim is part of the Tasmanian Ocean Swim Series.

The Races

The 2km event will be held in two waves, Open and Juniors*.  The minimum age for entrants is 12 years on the day of the swim.

There is also a 500m swim that is open to all ages (from U10s).

The Course

The 2 km swim is a triangular course held in the Rubicon Estuary, between Penguin Island and the Port Sorell SLSC at Hawley Beach. The 500m swim is a u-shaped course.

Both races start and finish in front of the Port Sorell SLSC on Freers Beach.
